A beautiful deck can transform your outdoor space, but exposure to the elements can cause wood surfaces to fade, crack, and deteriorate over time. Whether your deck’s surface is worn down from old stain, dirt, mildew, or water damage, a deck refinishing service can bring it back to life, restore its natural look, and extend its lifespan.
At PressureWorks NW, we specialize in professional deck refinishing, handling everything from deck cleaning and sanding to staining and sealing. Whether your wood deck needs a fresh coat of stain, repairs, or a new surface, we have the experience and right equipment to get the job done properly.
Refinishing your wood deck is more than just an aesthetic improvement – it’s a necessary part of deck maintenance that protects your investment from long-term damage. If left untreated, wooden surfaces can deteriorate, leading to costly repairs or even deck replacement.
“If your deck’s surface shows any of these signs, it’s time for a thorough cleaning, sanding, and refinishing to keep it looking great and functioning safely.”
A proper deck refinishing job requires multiple steps to ensure a smooth, long-lasting finish. Our deck professionals follow a detailed process to achieve the best results.
The first step in deck refinishing is removing old stain, dirt, and mildew. We use a pressure washer or power washer for a thorough cleaning, ensuring the deck boards are free from buildup.
After washing, we let the deck dry before sanding the entire deck to remove rough spots and old wood splinters. This step is crucial for stain adhesion and a smooth finish.
If extensive repairs are needed, we’ll advise whether deck replacement or full deck replacement is a better long-term solution.
Once the deck is prepped, we apply a fresh coat of stain using a paint roller, brush, or garden sprayer. Homeowners can choose between:
